The Sovereign of men,
The God of mankind.
From the evil of the retreating whisperer
Who whispers {evil} in the hearts of mankind
From among the jinn and mankind.’
One of (Al-Mu‘awwazatain) and one of the protection chapters of the Holy Qur’an. Allah the All Mighty concluded the Holy Qur’an with this Surah. God said to his Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H.) through Surah Al-Nass: ‘Say to them to take the protection of the Lord of mankind. I am God, the protector from all evil.’ These verses are treated as dispellers of fear and sorrow in Islam. Prophet Mohammed (P.B.U.H.) urged all Muslims to recite them frequently.
